Unlike almost all other model searches, Swimwear Daily is looking to discover, network and collaborate with as many new and semi-established swimsuit models as possible and one of the ways is by showing them how to connect with published professional photographers that do stock photography which typically pays models $25 to $50 per hour / $200 to $400 per day.
What is stock photography? Stock photography is the creation of photographic images to be used for marketing, advertising, editorial, social media, ecommerce and/or artistic purposes without first securing a commitment from a client or buyer to purchase any of those images.
Professional stock photographers then place the images they have created with one or more stock photography agencies - iStock and Getty Images for example - on a percentage basis.
Stock photography agency clients then purchase one or more images from the stock agency and the stock agency splits the proceeds with the photographer which can be risky for photographers as stock photographers only get paid if and when their images sell which is why models that do stock photography typically earn only $200 to $400 per day.
There is, however, no risk whatsoever to the model and it's a relatively easy way for beginner and semi-established models to get the meaningful exposure and experience they need in order to book much higher paying ecommerce, swimwear, lingerie resort wear, fashion magazine advertising, runway work and commercials that pay $1500 to $3000 per day or more.
Another great way to network and earn while you learn at the same time is by doing promotional modeling at events, trade shows, conventions, car shows, boat shows, etc. as event promo modeling is also relatively easy for new models to break into, it typically pays $350 or more per day and often leads to bigger and better bookings with top brands.
